Obituary for Cecil Ervin Dolan
Dolan, Cecil Ervin October 16, 1949 - March 16 ,2023
We are sad to announce the passing of our sweet and loving dad at the age of 73 due to cancer.
He decided he wasn't waiting any longer to be in the loving arms of his wife Marjorie (2020) and to hang out with his son Tod (2018). He leaves behind his daughters Buffy Kerr (Tom) and Virginia Deloughery (Dale). Grandkids Melanie Tong ( Daniel 2023) Bobby Kerr (Tonya) and his best buddy and engine rebuilder Gavin Kerr (Peyton). As well as his Great grandkids Olivia and Atlas.
Cecil is predeceased by his wonderful parents Floyd and Dorothy Dolan of Dunnville and his baby brother Michael many years ago.
Our dad was from a large family and loved his siblings like no other and reminiscing about the shenanigans they got into on the farm. He leaves behind sisters Sylvia (John) and Regina (Bob), as well as brothers Gary (Dolly), Robert, Jim (Pam) ,Brian, and Kerry (Susan).
Cecil felt blessed to have many nieces and nephews. Next to his own kids they were very much a big part of what brought him happiness and he'll now be able to see the ones who left this world too soon.
Dad has always had a love of classic cars and has owned a few but his real passion was rebuilding big and small block engines for others and was quite well known for his skill. He used to hit the car shows and swap meets every year with his big brother Gary, it was like Christmas for him to anticipate what he could find.
He's left a big hole in our hearts but we're relieved to know he'll be cruising with mum now in their '65 Mercury Marauder down along the lakeside. He can finally have the much needed rest after a life well lived. His kind and caring nature, love and strength were incomparable. We will carry him in our hearts forever.
Cremation has taken place and the family will gather privately to celebrate Cecil's life.
