Obituary

GARDNER, Elizabeth Patricia

With great sadness, her family announces the death of Elizabeth Patricia "Pat" Gardner, due to heart failure, on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at the Welland General Hospital.

A resident of Fenwick for the last 10 years, Pat was born in Newfoundland in 1936, and then lived for many years in Saint John, N.B., where she was deeply involved in church and community, touching the lives of may people.

Pat is predeceased by her parents, Rev. Stanley McKay and Marjorie (Coates) Gardner, and her sister, Enid Dowling.

Pat will be remembered with love and affection by her entire extended family. She will be missed by her brother, David and wife, Donna, of Fonthill and sister Dora Drennan (Douglas 2011) of Fenwick; and son Stephen Sulzer, his wife Angie and grand daughter Sarah Anne of Alaska/Seattle. Pat also dearly loved and was loved by her niece and nephews: Kelle Crosbie (Michael), Scott Gardner (Julie), Michael Gardner (Heather), Robert Drennan and Brian Drennan, as well as three great nephews and two great nieces.

In accordance to Pat's wishes, cremation has taken place and Pat will be laid to rest next to her parents in Cedar Hill Cemetery, on a hill overlooking Saint John, N. B.. Memorial donations may be made in Pat's memory to Fonthill United Church or a charity of one's choice.

Dear Aunt Dora and Family, very sorry for the loss of your dear sister. As my Dad would say , she was a typical Meritimer, a very good person. Thinking of you. Love the Wilkes

David, Donna and Dora, Very sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I have many fond memories of visiting Pat (and your parents) in Maine, Bayswater and Saint John back in the 60s,70s and 80s. So long ago but those memories have remained with me. Take care. Gary Coates and Karen Anthony.
