Obituary for Robert William Williams
WILLIAMS, Robert William (October 29, 1935 – February 14, 2021)
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) peacefully at home with his loving wife on Valentine’s Day.
Married to Audrey (Gilbert) for 65 and 1/2 years. Predeceased by his parents Herb and Molly, infant son Ronald, brother Sonny and grandson Jason. Survived by; His 3 Sons - Robert and Margie, Randy and Noreen, Don and Angela. His 9 Grandchildren - Stephenie and Mike Penrose, Christina and Phil Swales, Heather Williams, Michelle and Ryan Hatcher, Celeste Williams, Carrie and Manuel Mayr, Randi and Lionel Lambert, Dennis Williams and Chelsea, Kristen Williams. His 13 Great Grandchildren - Ezra, Arlo, Adam, Amber, Avery, Owen, Hunter, Tyler, Patrick, Rebecka, Lillian, Willow, Thomas. His Brother Don and Cherie, Niece Melody and Mark Halagian and family, Nephew Kip and Lynn and family.
Robert was a Master Plumber who started working in the trade, alongside his father at the age of 15. He Owned and Operated Robert William's Plumbing and Heating limited for 56 years. He ran the business alongside his wife from their family home, which they built with their boys, brick by brick. Robert was a scout leader for North Pelham Youth, a coach for Pelham Minor Hockey and could often be found in the early hours of the morning out clearing off the outdoor rink, making it ready for the teams to play. He had a strong community spirit and sponsored many baseball and hockey teams throughout the years.
Robert will be fondly remembered by his wife, and kids, grand kids and great grandkids, brother and friends as we continue to engage in some of his favourite pastimes including; guitar, harmonica, golf, wood working, sign painting, iron forging, fishing, going to the cottage and yard saling.
We would like to thank the kind and caring medical community that has looked after Bob over the years.
Due to COVID restrictions a private family ceremony will be held at PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, Fonthill followed by interment at North Pelham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Robert's honor to Grace Christian Reformed Church or Open Arms Mission of Welland.
