I am honored for the opportunity to be able to express my love and condolences to our family for Grandmas passing. She was an amazing and loving woman who had a deep love for us all. I will always remember the excitement I had growing up when we got to stay with her and Grandpa each summer. It was such a sweet time with them. I loved popping in to visit her throughout my college years. She was a great joy to be around. I am grateful that this time is not filled with only sadness. It is a time of great joy, because I know Grandmas is with Jesus.

When I was 22 years old, Jesus Christ got a hold of my heart in such a powerful way, that I could not deny that He was the Truth. Part of this could be attributed to Grandma and Grandpa bringing me to church whenever I visited them. I surrendered my life to Christ and experienced the power of His Holy Spirit, regenerating me to life inside. It was a miraculous experience in my life. I was able to share this experience with Grandma and Grandpa. They were both excited to know I believed.

As time permitted, I had the opportunity to explain the Gospel I had learned, to Grandma. I wanted to make sure she would be with Jesus when she died. I wanted to make sure she wasn’t counting on only being a good person and going to church to get to Heaven. I shared with her this verse, Titus 3:5 which says:

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost...”.

She told me she believed this and we prayed together. This was one of the most special moments I had with Grandma.

She had so much excitement for learning more about the Lord, that it makes me glad to know that she is now with Him. I am so thankful my family was able to visit Grandma two summers ago and spend some time with her. We will all miss her greatly and I know I will see her again one day.

With Love,
Andrew (Jessica) Timms
